Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a physician’s prescription for physical therapy?

No. North Carolina is a ‘direct access’ state, which allows physical therapists to be the first line of treatment for injuries. We are trained to perform screens that determine whether or not you are appropriately for physical therapy. This makes it easy for patients to feel better, faster, without the waiting game. Don’t worry - if you do need to be referred, I can help you with that too.

Do you take my insurance?

I do not accept insurance. GROW PT utilizes a cash-based, fee for service payment model. This allows me to get you better, in less time, without insurance restrictions. It allows for 60 minutes sessions and one-on-one care. I do take HSA and FSA.

I also provide an invoice/superbill to get reimbursed based on your benefits. I understand this can make access more difficult for some, but I am committed to providing the highest value and quality care that in-network insurance companies simply do not allow.

Why GROW PT?

Each visit is individualized and geared specifically to your needs in order to continue healing and treatment at home between sessions. I have time to listen, adjust, and progress accordingly. You get results quicker. The average visit count and discharge rate is significantly less than a typical in-network facility. I set you up with knowledge and skills to maintain a healthy, pain free life.

What payment methods do you accept?

I accept cash, credit, debit, HSA, FSA, Zelle, and Venmo. Payment is due at time of service.

Do you do dry needling?

Yes, I have separate dry needling sessions/packages available for purchase. Dry needling is also included in your physical therapy (if warranted) at no extra cost.

What does a pelvic floor evaluation look like?

Depending on your symptoms and needs, every evaluation can look different. I treat the body as a whole, so I will still assess your movement, strength, mobility, etc. The pelvic floor can be assessed internally or externally. I am trained to perform both. The internal assessment is very gentle performed with the use of one gloved, lubricated finger. Through this, I check the strength, coordination, endurance, speed and integrity of the pelvic floor muscles. You can ALWAYS opt out of an internal assessment.

Do you just treat women?

I treat people of all genders, ages, shapes and sizes for orthopedic injuries. I do not treat men for pelvic floor issues specifically, but can give referrals for other providers in the area who do.

Where is the clinic located?

The clinic is on East Blvd in the Dilworth neighborhood of Charlotte. There is more information on this under the “Contact” tab. I go over directions, parking info, and a video to illustrate how to get to the clinic.
